RockBLOCK 9704
)
RockBLOCK 9704 is a versatile satellite communication module optimized for unmanned systems including UAVs (drones), UGVs (unmanned ground vehicles), and USVs (unmanned surface vessels). Compact and lightweight, it provides seamless global two way satellite messaging via the Iridium Certus 9704 transceiver and supports the IMT protocol, enabling data payloads from 25 bytes up to 100 KB with low latency.
Designed to fit space- and power-constrained unmanned platforms, RockBLOCK 9704 offers flexible connectivity options (USB-C, TTL UART) and optional GNSS passthrough for enhanced location tracking. Operating on a wide voltage range (4.0–5.3 V DC), it easily integrates with diverse power systems typical in unmanned vehicles.
Ideal for telemetry, status updates, command & control signals, and payload data, RockBLOCK 9704 keeps unmanned fleets connected where cellular and terrestrial radio networks cannot reach. Supported by Ground Control’s Cloudloop platform, it offers streamlined airtime management and integration with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) using familiar protocols such as HTTP and MQTT.
Whether surveying remote terrain with UGVs, monitoring coastal waters with USVs, or conducting environmental inspections via UAVs, RockBLOCK 9704 provides a reliable satellite communication backbone for unmanned systems operating globally in challenging environments.
