ARC Aerosystems Limited
ARC Aerosystems is a British technology company that has developed a range of airplanes designed to significantly reduce intercity and regional journey times, costs and/or emissions by combining:
Vertical take-off and landing capability (VTOL) hugely expanding the number of access points, compared to that available for conventional aircraft, by using many existing under-used airfields and potential sites for new helipads/vertiports;
Fixed-wing conventional flight provides longer range and faster speed than helicopters and multi-rotor drones;
Hybrid propulsion using certified aircraft engines and electric powertrains capable of using hydrogen (and bio-diesel) for low to zero-emission operations.
ARC, for its multi-rotor + fixed-wing cargo planes, it has achieved “transition” (from vertical take-off to wing-borne flight) far more quickly and cost-effectively than other competitors that have also achieved it;
ARC’s unmanned cargo products are:
ARC-C600 (with maximum take-off weight of 600kg, including 100kg of cargo); ARC’s VTOL UAV is designed to solve a critical logistics challenge: autonomous, efficient, and flexible middle-mile cargo delivery, especially in areas where traditional infrastructure is limited or disrupted.
ARC-C150 (with MTOW of 100 kg) is another VTOL capable aircraft with 20kg payload and hybrid electric which can achieve more than 400 km of range and 3hour+ endurance.
