IEDO, the International Emergency Drone Organization, is an international non-profit association with general interest approval. It is based in France, in the commune of Versailles, in the offices of the Departmental Service for Fire and Rescue of Yvelines. It was created on June 10, 2018.
It brings together specialists and drone remote pilots from several countries, from several public safety agencies or associations.
THE MAIN OBJECTIVES OF IEDO ARE TO:
Promote the drone to the public and to the public safety organizations ;
Share knowledge & experience between emergency drone teams around the world ;
Improve the efficiency & the operational quality of drone teams ;
Support innovation and technology testings ;
Develop international partnership
Our focus is on the development of exchanges on national and international level and to be able to discuss local problems, solutions and initiatives for the best uses of the drone to save lives. All these actions are carried by the volunteer members of IEDO in a collaborative way.
It was recently awarded the AUVSI international award in the Public Safety category in August 2021 for its report on best practices of drones in rescue and firefighting missions.
