Amanda Smith is the UAV Equipment Programme Lead at Sellafield Ltd, where she oversees all UAV operations — from routine asset inspections to emergency deployments — ensuring safe, compliant delivery in line with CAA regulations and the site’s nuclear safety case. With 26 years of experience in the nuclear industry and seven years specialising in UAV applications, Amanda brings deep operational knowledge and strategic insight to the evolving use of drones in high-hazard environments.

She is the Chair of ARPAS-UK, the UK’s professional body for the drone industry, and also leads as Chair of COMIT2Drones, promoting drone integration across construction and infrastructure. Amanda is a respected advocate for safety, innovation, and the responsible use of UAV technology in complex, regulated environments.
