UAS Capability Manager, National Grid Electricity Transmission

Liam is the UAS Capability Manager at National Grid, leading the development and expansion of UAS operations to support critical national infrastructure. He is a Chartered Engineer with a background in major project construction, civil engineering design, and major infrastructure delivery, with expertise in applying advanced technologies to improve asset management across the transport and energy sectors.

Liam has developed and managed extensive UAS operations, built new capabilities to meet industry needs, and enabled organisations to scale and embed UAS use effectively. At National Grid, he is driving the rollout of a world-leading autonomous BVLOS inspection programme while growing the businesses capability for critical asset survey, emergency response and more.

Passionate about innovation and strategy, Liam thrives in linking emerging technologies to business outcomes. His focus is on delivering safe, efficient, and resilient operations, ensuring that UAS technology adds real value while helping shape the future of infrastructure management.
