Martin Codling

Capital Delivery Manager, Thames Water

I started working for Thames Water as a mechanical/electrical apprentice on the waste side just over 36 years ago, working on treatment works. I then moved on to operating and maintaining the waste network and pumping stations within London and then managing a team of up to 28 staff to complete this work. I am currently managing the capital spend of approx £5m per year for Thames Waters''s largest strategic pumping stations and trunk sewers in London. I am also a mentor and assessor to ensure that all our staff who issue permits do so safely, correctly, and to the company standards.

As an occupational hobby, I am now one of a handful of drone pilots within Thames Water and am pushing the boundaries to use the technology more.
